    To check the stretch and recovery, use a ruler so you know how much recovery and stretch it actually has (I measure 4 inches). I wouldn’t say that not having excellent recovery means it’s bad quality… different recoveries have different uses. But when it comes to cotton lycra, I do prefer fabrics that have a nice soft hand, are a decent weight, and have great recovery. Whether or not it pills in the washing machine will also be a good determinant of quality though unless the host discloses that ahead of time, you don’t know what that will be like until you do it yourself.
