First Quilt Block: M*A*S*H Cross Quilt
by on July 31, 2018 in

One thing I love about sewing, is the community of beautiful sewing artists that define it. When I was told about The Quilting Marine, and what he was trying to do, it put a smile on my face.

Not only is he teaching people how to quilt, but he’s highlighting the power of quilting to help allieviate stress, fight off some effects of PTSD, all while fostering a sense of community around a simple needle and thread.

I tip my hat to the man, and I’ve decided to sew my first quilt block (imperfect as it may be), and send it off for him to add to his community quilt.
